Lula Mae Wilson, 70, of Springfield died at 6:25 pm Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 31, 1941 in Auburn, IL to Herbert Alan and Rose Lee Pittman Wylder. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are her long time companion, Thomas Britenstine; two daughters, Wendy (Peter Richardson) Wilson of Los Altos Hills, CA and Gwen (Edward “Gene”) Peregrin of Chatham; three grandchildren, Kiel (Amanda) Peregrin, Kelsey (Johnathan) Chisam and Katherine Richardson; one great granddaughter, Miriam; two sisters, Alberta Norris of Divernon and Linda Adams of Modesto and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lula grew up in Auburn and lived in Divernon and Springfield the past twelve years. She was a member of AFSCME. She enjoyed a good mystery novel and was an accomplished seamstress. She was employed as an accountant for the State of Illinois.
Celebration of Life: The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life in the Spring of 2013.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
