Lovetta Meyer, 101, of Springfield, died at 12:45 am, Friday, October 4, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born, September 3, 1912 in Loami, to C. Elmer and Bertie Hagen Davis. She married H. Ray Meyer on February 18, 1931 and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1993.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Robert Meyer; one grandson, Michael; four sisters, Bernetta (twin sister), Clara, Helen and Iona and one brother Clarence.
Survivors include, three daughters, Thelma Agnew and Janet Fernandez both of Springfield and Elizabeth (Robert) Feldhake of Louisville; three sons, Vernon (Sue) Meyer, Edward (June) Meyer and Charles (Debbie) Meyer all of Springfield; 18 grandchildren and numerous great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Annabelle Campbell of Ogden, IL and Frances Crump of Dallas Texas and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lovetta was a resident of Springfield for forty-four years. She was a member of Eagles Auxiliary and a lifetime member of P.O.L.K. of A.
Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Monday, October 7, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Robert Green officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
