Louise C. Stengel, 92, of Springfield, died at 9:50 am Monday, April 15, 2013 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born August 20, 1920 in Springfield, to Cornelius J. and Mary Link McCarthy. She married Jack B. Stengel in 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1989.
Her parents; three sisters, Mary Evoy, Alberta Bietsch and Francis McCarthy; two brothers, Cornelius J. “Buck” McCarthy and Bill McCarthy and one granddaughter, Nicole Stengel also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Louise Stengel of Springfield; one son, John Patrick (Bernice) Stengel of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren, Scott (Renee) Stengel of Vienna, VA and Angela (Michael) Yelich of Tulsa, OK; two great grandchildren, Benjamin & Jonah Stengel and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Louise was a member of St. Joseph’s Church; AARP and St. Joseph’s Guild. She was a loving mother and caretaker and enjoyed visiting her friends.
Visitation: 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Monsignor Thomas Holinga officating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
