SPRINGFIELD – Louise B. Houston, 84, of Springfield died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born June 7, 1924, in Interlochen, Mich., the daughter of Lewis and Mary Schroeter. She married Robert G. Houston on Nov. 23, 1943; he preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1991.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five sisters; a brother; and a son, Stephen Houston.
She is survived by a daughter, JoLynn (husband, Douglas) Farley of Springfield; a son, David (wife, Susan) Houston; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a resident of Springfield since the late 1930s. She worked for the state of Illinois Department of Public Aid, retiring after 35 years.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and she bowled in various leagues throughout Springfield.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. The funeral services will begin at noon at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Debowey officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation.
