Louis N. “Lou” Williams, 62, of Springfield, died at 8:55 am, Monday, May 5, 2014 at his home. He was born May 12, 1951 in Charleston, SC, to James and Mary Simmons Williams. He married Fannie B. Daniels on November 11, 1978, and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Shawna Davis of Springfield, Hope Williams of Atlanta, GA and Stephanie Williams of Springfield; Three Grandchildren; mother, Mary Williams of Charleston, SC; one sister, Kathleen L. Johnson of Charleston, SC; one brother, Julius L. (Bertha) Simmons, Sr. of Springfield and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers, James U. Williams, Marion Williams and Anthony Williams.
Lou was a carpenter and worked for Carpenter’s Local, he then worked at Pillsbury Mills and Cargill and retired from Mel-o-Cream.
He was a member of Carpenters Local. He loved playing chess, BBQ’s, gardening and fishing.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Friday, May 9, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
