Lorraine A. Pilcher, 85, of Springfield, died at 4:10 pm, Sunday, September 28, 2014 at her home. She was born March 4, 1929 in Monmouth, IL, to Glenn B. and Ethel M. Hanna Armstrong. She married Henry R. Wendt in 1948, they later divorced and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2001. She married George R. Pilcher on February 11, 1984 and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1995.
Her parents and one brother, Richard G. Armstrong also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey D. (Janet) Wendt of Springfield and Marcus H. (Sandra) Wendt of Lincoln; one sister Carol (Hank) Schultz of Redding, CA; three grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lorraine retired as Assistant Vice President of Underwriting from the Franklin Life Insurance Company. She was a member of Prairie Art Alliance; Springfield Art Association and Springfield Area Arts Council and served as a board member for the Girl Scout Council. Lorraine received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sangamon State University. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Visitation: 4-6 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with additional visitation from 9-9:30 am, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Funeral Service: 9:30 am, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Blythe Denham Kieffer officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
