Our school bus dropped us off at Jefferson and Bruns and we would immediately head in to Flecks Motel to see Lorraine and buy penny candy, the multi colored dots stuck on paper, the wax bottles filled with colored liquid, root beer barrels, Toms peanut butter logs. If we had 10 pennies Lorraine filled the bag with twice as much candy. Fast forward 40 years and we met up in the Red Hats and it brought back so many wonderful memories. At Red Hat meetings, or running in to her at the grocery store, or visiting her at St. Josephs Home, she always had a big smile on her face the moment she saw me! Rest in peach my friend.
