Lori Lynn Duncan-Kasting, 51, of Medora, IL died at 10:17pm, Saturday, November 27, 2010. She was born August 6, 1959 in Long Beach, CA to Jerry and Marylou Jenkins Duncan. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Cory E. Norman. She married Glenn A. Kasting on May 13, 2005 and he survives. Also surviving are one son, Jacob M. Parker of Springfield; two step-daughters, Crystal Shaw of Shipman and Holly (Chris) Hemphill of Edwardsville; one step-son, James Kasting of Medora; one ‘adopted’ daughter, Angie Harbison of Springfield; six grandchildren, Devon, Dallas, Dawson, Dyllan, Addison, Ariana; one sister, Suzanne Duncan of Springfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Russ and Jamie Kasting of Marine, IL; one sister-in-law, Karen Bailey of St. Louis, MO; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lori was a warm, compassionate, outgoing person who loved being surrounded by family and friends and her three dogs, Bodie, Sonny and Max. She loved cooking, fishing, camping and taking long road trips to the river. She worked for 30 years as a Certified Nurses Aid, most recently at Southlawn Sheltered Care. Lori took great pride in her patients and was recognized for doing so with multiple awards.
The family will be hosting a memorial gathering from 4-6:30 pm, Thursday, December 2, 2010 at The Blue Ridge Club, 411 East Lake Shore Dr., Springfield, IL with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:30 pm with Reverend Steven Battles officiating.
