Loretta C. “Jeri” Hahn, 95, of Springfield, died at 1:31 am, Monday, October 31, 2016 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born November 20, 1920 in Springfield, to Edward K. and Veronica Loretta (Kavetsky) Brennan. She married Louis W. Hahn on December 7, 1940 and he preceded her in death on June 28, 1961.
Also preceding her in death are her parents; one son, Greg Hahn; one daughter, Suzie Stiegelmeyer and one brother Edward E. Brennan.
Survivors include two sons, Doug Hahn (partner, Alan Burgard) of Springfield and Roger H. Hahn of Tallahassee FL; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Hahn of Springfield; one son-in-law, William Stiegelmeyer of Indianapolis, IN; ten grandchildren, Jodi, (John) McMahon, Jeri (Steve) Fuess, Eric (Tina) Hahn, Forrest (Julia) Hahn, Brennan Hahn, Lisa (Bill) Roberts, Michelle (Doug) Gessner, Steve (Tonia) Stiegelmeyer, Sherrill Hansel and Alissa Hahn; twenty-three great grandchildren, Jamie (Mike) Runyon, Kyle Fuess, Page, Piper and Carrigan McMahon, Megan & Brody Meyer, Ryne & Kyle Roberts, Cole & Beckett Dubrow, Charles, Marissa, Ryan and Tessa Hahn, Tristan, Sydney and Ryker Hahn, Stevie Stiegelmeyer, Jr., Justin & Joey Hansel and Arielle & Aiden Hahn and two great great granddaughters, Bailey and Stevie.
Jeri was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church and was associated with Christ the King Church. She was a member of the band Pinochle Club and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was a patron of the Muni Opera. Her passions were jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and winning at board games but most of all playing cards. Spending time with her family was most important.
She worked as a bookkeeper for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education and retired after twenty-six years of service.
P.S. She was the best grandmother ever.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday November 4, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Reverend Dr. Kent Lolling and Reverend Dr. John Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
