Lois U. Scanlan

Lois U. Scanlan, 94, of Springfield, died at 4:42 pm, Sunday, February 12, 2017 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born March 2, 1922 in Hoople, ND to David and Ursula Ginder. She married Bernie Scanlan on March 4, 1944 and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Marty (Sheri) Scanlan and Todd Scanlan (Karen) both of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Connor, Melissa, Steffani, Tara, Ryan and Kortney; two great grandchildren, Amber and Cody; one sister, Evelyn Dickerson of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Sally Bestudik and two brothers, Walter and Lloyd Ginder.

Lois was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Friday, February 17, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Paula Carmichael, officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
