SPRINGFIELD – Lois Ann I. Hamilton, 82, of Springfield died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Mindoro, Wis., the daughter of John and Irene Knudson Young. She married William F. Hamilton on May 29, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2006. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John William Hamilton; and two brothers, Merlin and Arnold Young.
Mrs. Hamilton had been a resident of Springfield since 1946. She was employed at Camp McCoy in Wisconsin and was employed at Horace Mann Educators Corp. for 16 years, retiring in 1989.
She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Ann (husband, Vincent) Lugibill of Williamsville; a son, Robert Alan (wife, Rhonda) Hamilton of Sherman; a grandson, Dalton Wayne Hamilton; a sister, Charlotte Hemstock of Minneapolis; two brothers, Orlando (wife, Melva) Young and Lloyd (wife, Ila Rae) Young, both of Melrose, Wis.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
