Lloyd T. Lacy, 77, of Phoenix, AZ formerly of Salisbury, died at 1:40 p.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Maryland Gardens Care Center. He was born on May 16, 1940 in Springfield, IL to Lynne E. and Edna Miller Lacy. He was the first son born on the maternal side of the family in 100 years. He married Judith Howard in 1962 and she preceded him in death. He later married Rita Messer Smith in 1999 and she also preceded him death.
Also preceding him in death are his parents, two sisters, Wanda Sexton and Joan Knoles.
Surviving are five children, Melissa (Brian) Myers of Springfield, Tom (Tonya) Lacy of Petersburg, Tim (Rebecca) Lacy of Springfield, Melanie (Greg) Antonacci of Springfield and Kaylee Lacy of Phoenix, AZ; eleven grandchildren, Jed (Erica) and Jake Shimkus, Derek and Dustin Myers, Indigo Lacy, Isabella, Sofia, Luca, Gianna, Eli, and Ava Antonacci; two great-grandchildren, Lexie and Liam Shimkus; several nieces and nephews and one cousin Rita (Ernie) Mohs of Chatham.
Lloyd worked at Brandt Chemical and retired as owner and operator of Salisbury Video before moving to Phoenix, AZ.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1958-1961.
Lloyd was a resident of Phoenix, AZ for the past 15 years. He belonged to Pleasant Plains Jaycees. He enjoyed bowling, baseball and movies. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Illini basketball fan.
Memorial Gathering: 9-10 am, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield.
Memorial Service: 10 am, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield with Pastor Jeff Knoles officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
