Linda Sue Stenke, 68, of Springfield, died at 1:08 am, Monday, July 10, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born July 7, 1949 in Springfield, to John Abbott and Nellie Mae Barnard Watts, Sr. She married Manfred Fritz Stenke on December 23, 1967 and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Brian (Michelle) Stenke of Chatham and Jeffrey (Shelby) Alexander of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren, Grace and Faith Stenke and Connor, Caitlin, Collin and Cameron Alexander; one brother, John (Vicki) Watts, Jr. of Springfield; one niece, Heather Umbach; two nephews, Jim and Mike Watts and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda was a member of Eastview Baptist Church. She worked for thirteen years as a clerk at Meijer and had previously worked for the State of Illinois and Illinois Bell Telephone Company.
Memorial Gathering: 3-5 pm, Friday, July 14, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Memorial Service: 5 pm, Friday, July 14, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield, with Pastor Bennie Fisher officiating.
Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.

I would like to send my condolences to you and your family. I enjoyed talking to her about her family trips and chevy Impala car repair stories. It seemed liked our are car was always in the shop at same time. Linda was a good person to work with and she will be greatly missed at Meijer.
