SPRINGFIELD – Lawrence R. Larry Kaiser, 57, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 19, 1952, in Springfield, the son of Edward J. and Gladys B. Adkinson Kaiser. He married Pam McGrew on March 10, 1979.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joe Weinhoeft and Edward Moe Kaiser.
Mr. Kaiser was a maintenance technician for the village of Rochester and a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of Rochester Fire and Rescue Squad and Knights of Columbus Council 4175. He was a Cubs and Bears fan.
Surviving are his wife, Pam Kaiser of Springfield; three daughters, Lindsay R. Kaiser (LRK Jr.) of Springfield, Jessica L. (Jack) Berry of San Diego and Laurel N. Kaiser of Springfield; a grandson, Sean Patrick Berry; three sisters, Pat (Jim) Meiron of Springfield, Johnni (Bill) DiBartolomeo of Dawson and Barb Beard of Springfield; four brothers, Mike (Gina) Kaiser, Butch (Lisa) Kaiser, Richard (Sherry) Weinhoeft, all of Springfield, and James (Peggy) Weinhoeft of South Carolina; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and an aunt, Sue Wolfe of Springfield.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. Services will be there at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, with Brother Raphael officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, where the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors. Memorials may be made to Rochester Fire and Rescue Squad.
