Springfield, Illinois – Lacricia Burnside 77, died on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center.
Lacricia was born to Harley Edward Martin and Christine Dunkle Martin on July 16, 1940, in Moberly, Missouri. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1958. She also attended Illinois State University at Normal, Illinois.
During her lifetime, Lacricia retired as an Executive I with the State of Illinois, Department of Professional Regulation on August 1, 2002 after 30 years of service and was also employed an additional 10 years with Franklin Life Insurance Company and Schafer Supply/Gainer Mills. Lacricia also was employed with St. John’S Hospital for 1 year in the business office and 1 year employed at Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company. Lacricia was a member of the Illinois State Employees Retirement System.
Lacricia was a member of the Red Hat Club, Frivolous Fillies for 14 years and Sangamon County Association for Home and Community Education for 24 years. Lacricia also attended Women in Study – bible study at Westside Christian Church and had a small group bible study in her home. Lacricia was a member of West Side Christian Church since 1988.
Surviving are several cousins, the majority live in Missouri and one cousin in Florida also many West Side Christian Church members who are family and many other friends God provided as family.
Lacricia was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, all aunts and uncles and one son, Scott Christopher Burnside. Lacricia was divorced and her ex-husband also preceded her in death.
The family will be hosting a graveside memorial service at 1 pm, April 14, 2018 at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Cindy Lash officiating. The location in Oak Ridge is Block 42C, Lot 160 at her mother’s grave. The closest entrance would be via J. David Jones Parkway near the war memorials.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian Church, 2850 Cider Mill Lane, Springfield, IL 62702.

Lacricia was always happy and positive, in spite of her pain and discomfort. We loved visiting with her and checking in with her. Lacricia will be greatly missed, especially by her West Side family. We will see her later, in God's timing.
