SPRINGFIELD, IL – L. Jane Radunzel, 56 of Springfield, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 10:10 pm, at her residence. She was born September 28, 1953 in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Fredrick and Ruth Whitcomb Radunzel. Her father and a brother Frederick Barney preceded her in death.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Radunzel of Canton, IL; two sons, Christopher (companion, Renee McVay, and son Noah) and James (wife, Marya) Radunzel, both of Springfield; grandson, Alexander; three sisters, Susan (Dave) Schwab of Avon, IL, Beth (Bill) Richards of Canton, IL, and Julie (Mike) Loucks of Mt. Vernon, IL; uncle Robert (Nancy) Radunzel of Chicago, IL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jane formally of Canton was a resident of Springfield for the past 30 years. She worked as an Executive Assistant to the Director of Employment Security and Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Illinois Department of Human Services for the State of Illinois, retiring after 30 years. She was a member of the S.A.R.A. Center and volunteered for several organizations. She was a member of Unity Church of Practical Christianity. Jane was a passionate woman not only spiritually, but intellectually, she was very family orientated. She was an accomplished people pleaser and doer, believing that her job in life was to act like the sun and hold up the world. The most joyful of the guests within Jane was God, who finally invited to express all the good that is for Jane that she can imagine and more. With God’s guidance, Jane no longer holds up the world, she sings and dances in the sun.
Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 form 1-3 pm at Unity Church of Practical Christianity, 417 Cordelia. Springfield, Illinois 62703, followed by a memorial services at 3 pm., Pat Meeter officiating.
