Sue and family... I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Dale sounds like a very special man with passionate causes, someone you'd like to sit with on a porch and just listen to his stories. Too many people don’t appreciate their parents while they have them. That’s certainly not the case with this family. As Sue's colleague at the college, I know that family is everything to her.

We are so sorry to hear about Dale. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I remember seeing him at soccer games when my son played with Nick when they were very young. He was so proud of his family. Hold on to your memories and let them help you get through this terrible time.

My deepest sympathy to Mary Ellen and family on the loss of Dale. I remember him as a fine, gentle, kind, fine man with a wonderful sense of humor. I really don't exactly remember when I first met Dale but it was sometime when I was around fourteen and he had first started dating Mary Ellen. Although I never really thought much about it at the time but it was probably at a very important time in my life for my father died when I was fourteen. Dale, Mary Ellen and I was very good friends at that time. We did many small town things together at that time. Mary Ellen's father and mother had one of the first televisions in Pawnee at that time and in their home was my first exposure to television. Dale used to get his father's boat and we used to go water sking on Lake Springfield. Dale took me to get my drivers license when i turned 16 in his chevy convertible. I never remembered how we parted until tonight when I read that he and Mary Ellen were married in June,1953 in Fort Bliss,Texas. He was obviously in the Army at that time. I graduated from High School in May,1953 and was only in Pawnee on and off after that time. My sister Jane has always kept me up to date on what Mary Ellen and Dale were doing. Rest in peace my friend I will always remember your friendship and kindness.

I have not have had the opportunity to meet Dale personally. I have had the pleasure to work with his daughter Sue. I am sure that all the positive attributes of Sue (caring, responsible, methodical and much, much more), besides her own great character, must have come from somewhere, and Dale has certainly been a relevant contributor. All of us in Connecticut are so sad to hear of Dale's passing. Everyone here remembers him as a fine, gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor. Our wish is that the passage of time will ease the sorrow you now feel leaving you with only happy memories of wonderful times spent with him.
