Kenneth Vincent Feraris, Sr.
SPRINGFIELD – Kenneth Vincent Feraris, Sr., 84, of Springfield, died Monday, June 25, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital.
He was born January 31, 1923 in Hillsboro, IL, the son of Joseph and Helen Feraris. He married Lena Menghini on September 9, 1950. His parents and one sister, Shirley Murphy, preceded him in death.
Mr. Feraris was a plumber of Walter Slocombe Plumbing and Heating for over 30 years. He was a charter member of Christ the King Church and a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #137 and DAV. He was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart and two Bronze Battle Stars.
Survivors: wife, Lena Feraris of Springfield; two daughters, Kathy and Nancy Feraris, both of Springfield; one son, Ken (wife, Linda) Feraris of Springfield; two grandchildren, Lisa and Jason Feraris; one sister, Dorothy Southard of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Christ the King Church or the American Lung Association.
Visitation will be held 9:00-10:30 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2007 at Christ the King Church. Services: 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2007 at Christ the King Church, Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery, where Sangamon County Interveterans will conduct military honors. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
