TAYLORVILLE – Keith R. Haubold, 61, died at Proctor Hospital in Peoria on Tuesday, May 4, 2010.
He was born on May 12, 1948, in Taylorville, to Oscar Lyle and Mildred Porter Haubold.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Lyle Jr., Kenneth, Roger and Richard Haubold. He had been a resident of the Taylorville and Springfield area most of his life.
Keith is survived by two sisters, Sherry (Don) Gilpin of Taylorville and Jan (Paul) Smith of Riverton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Keith served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church, The American Legion in Springfield, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4495 in Taylorville. He enjoyed drawing, listening to country music and spending time with his family and friends. Before becoming disabled, Keith worked as an assembler at a fiberglass boat factory in Roselle, IL.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Mark Estrop officiating. Burial will be at Mechanicsburg Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.
