God gave us each a special gift a gift to give and share. He blessed Kathy with the gift of love and she spread it everywhere.
Kathryn, was born November 25, 1947 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Luther and Frances Brazier. She departed this life on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Luther and Charles Brazier and one sister, Agnes Marie Brazier Ousley.
She is survived by her sisters, Helen Toney of Springfield, Frances (Sidney) Mordaunt of Windsor, CT, Toni Cowsette of Charlotte, NC, Donna (Ricky) Brazier Brown of Alexandria, VA and Cleo Brazier of Concord, NC and extended family members, Sheila Shields of Springfield and Deidra Taylor Hogan of Kansas City, KS. Also Kathryn is survived by two aunts, Jeanne and Aljean; nieces and nephews as follows; Jake, Mario, Gina, Jackie, Joy, Samad, Lawrence, Christopher, Eric, and a host of great nieces, nephews, dear cousins and wonderful friends.
Kathy was baptized as an infant and developed a personal relationship with Jesus and daily prayer life throughout her life journey. She served as an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary and spent time at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Her passions in life were family, compassionate caregiving and pouring out her loving spirit. Puggie, as she was called by family, enjoyed travel, nature, reading, writing, cooking, dancing, having fun and sharing her sense of humor. Puggie completed her Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology at the University of Illinois (UIS). She was an inspiration and motivated others to further their education and life opportunities. She worked with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations and the Illinois Department of Human Services from which she retired.
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone. Part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Visitation: 10-11 am, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
Funeral Mass: 11 am, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Reverend Braden Maher officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

I only recently learned of Kathy's passing. I worked with her for many years at DPR. Our paths crossed a few times after she transferred and she would always call me 'kid'! Her laugh and smile were the best! Prayers to the family.
