Kathleen A. (Rappe’) Fliflet, 62, a resident of Springfield, died in her home at 12:20 am, Thursday, February 13, 2014, after a two year battle with ALS.
Born in Taylorville, IL, she is the daughter of Norma (Bacon) Moore and Wendell Rappe’.
Kathleen was a 1970 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Springfield. She began her career with Illinois Bell in 1969. She attended Lincoln Land Community College. In 1979, she worked for Mountain Bell in Phoenix, AZ. She returned to Springfield and finished her career with Ameritech, SBC and retired from AT&T in March 2012.
She is survived by daughter, Amanda M. Fliflet of Springfield. She also leaves her mother and step-father, Norma and Gerry Moore of Springfield; father and step-mother, Wendell and Janice Rappe’ of Springfield; one brother, Stephen Rappe’ (Brenda) of Winslow, IN; one sister, Teresa Rappe’ of Springfield; one uncle, Don Bacon of Sherman and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 4-7 pm Monday, February 17, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Funeral Mass: 10 am, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church with Father John Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
