SPRINGFIELD – Katherine Zaubi-Arndt, 94, of Springfield, died Sunday, September 9, 2007 at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born March 3, 1913 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Anton and Stephanie Germosek Zaubi. She married Fred Arndt on May 7, 1937; he preceded her in death on July 5, 2990. Her parents; three sisters, Cherie Cadigan, Mary Williams, and Clara Tranquilli; and two brothers, Tony and Charles Zaubi, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Arndt worked for Illinois Bell Telephone in the early 1940s and was a homemaker most of her life.
Survivors: four sisters, Frances Leininger of Phoenix, AZ, Ann Penrod of Long Beach, CA, Barbara Heckman of Strongsville, OH, and Teresa Wohler of Springfield; one brother, Edward (wife, Dorothy) Zaubi of Springfield; nieces, Barbara Kenney, Judy Mack, Nancy Cummins, Vicki Alewelt, Lynn Olesen, Dianne Zaubi Heimlich, and Pat Lott; nephews, Thad Leininger, Tony Tranquilli, Rick Wohler, Mark Wohler, Kurt Wohler, and Steven Zaubi; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Hospice.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Calvary Cemetery, Reverend Robert Porter officiating. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
