Katherine M. Cole

SPRINGFIELD – Katherine Katie Cole, 81, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007.

Katherine was born March 1, 1926, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Dr. Ben B. Moore and Katherine Deane Moore. She married Charles E. Cole on Feb. 17, 1951.

She is dearly loved and survived by her husband, Charles; three daughters, Jan Sappington of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Sue (Warren) Allfrey of Madison, Wis., and Martha (David) Whitlock of Springfield; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. Richard B. Moore of St. Paul, Minn.

She was exceptionally sweet, loving and kind, had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all who were privileged to know her.

She was a graduate of Indiana University and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma

sorority. She was a resident of Springfield since May 2000, formerly of Sun City Center, Fla., for 15 years.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Knox Knolls Free Methodist Church, with the Rev. Hendrik Smidderks officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or the American

Heart Association.
