Katherine Adeline "Addie" Herington

Katherine Adeline “Addie” Herington, 96, of Kalona, IA formerly of Springfield, IL died Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Kalona, IA. She was born on March 15, 1920 in Illiopolis, IL to Wilber Russell and Katherine Myrtle (Rentschler) Johnston. She married Byron E. Herington on August 1, 1941 and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Walter Allan Johnston and her daughter, Donna K. Brown.

Surviving are three sons, Robert W. (Jo) Herington of Peru, IL, Kenneth L. (Brenda) Herington of Kalona, IA and Thomas R. (Kathy) Herington of Jonesborough, TN; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Addie was a member of South Side Christian Church in Springfield. She retired from the State of Illinois after several years of service and was also a homemaker.

Visitation: 9-11 am, Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield where Robert Green will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Illiopolis, IL.
