SPRINGFIELD – Karen V. Robinson, 60, of Springfield passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born May 19, 1949, in Springfield, the daughter of Kenneth and Evelyn Ross. She married Woodrow B. Robinson in 1971.
Karen attended Brown’s Business College. She retired from the Department of Transportation in 1996 after 30 years with the state of Illinois. Karen loved fishing and hunting. She enjoyed growing flowers, watching her wild birds, going to the gambling boat, and taking trips to Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Woodrow B. Robinson; one son, Woody Robinson Jr.; three nieces, Tammy Muchorski, Connie Geist and Brenda Taft; one nephew, William Taft; and her very dear lifelong friend, Virginia Koehne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and one brother.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Charlie Carver officiating. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. A luncheon will immediately follow at Riverton Eagles Club.
