SPRINGFIELD – Joyce M. Breeding of Springfield passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 30, 1940, in Springfield, the daughter of Page Creviston and Anna Smith Creviston-Rhodes. She married Dickie D. Breeding on January 29, 1956.
She is leaving behind her husband, Dickie Breeding; two sisters, Delores Creviston and Susan (James) Cousin; seven brothers, James (Pat) Creviston, Donald (JoAnn) Creviston, Herschel (LaDonna) Creviston, Melvin (Pat) Creviston, Dave (Karen) Creviston, Steve (Chris) Rhodes and Jeff (Rhonda) Rhodes; a brother-in-law, Ben Breeding; one aunt; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, several cousins, and friends.
Joyce attended Springfield schools and the Washington Street Mission as a child. She became an LPN and worked the night shift in various nursing homes for over 40 years. She loved, respected and tended to her patients and for her babies. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, large family and friends. She liked to bowl, play Bingo, pitch horseshoes and made the best bread ever! She was generous and kind. You never left her home empty handed. She will be missed.
A visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Pastor David Upchurch will be officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Buckhart.
Memorial donations may be made to Easter Seals or the charity of choice in her honor.
