Joyce H. Marion, 73, of Springfield, died at 6:30 pm, Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born May 20, 1938, in Springfield to John and Helen Moss Miller. She married Jerry L. Marion on July 25, 1957. Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry of Springfield; son, Greg (Geri) Marion of Springfield; grandson, Adam Marion; two sisters, Phyllis (Delbert) Vincent of Springfield and Joella (Gary) Kerber of Alpharetta, GA; brother, Bill (Mary) Miller of Springfield and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joyce was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and had formerly worked as a Key Punch Operator for the State of Illinois and Fiat Allis. She formerly volunteered at Concordia Lutheran School as a reading helper. She enjoyed container gardening, was an excellent pianist, able to play by ear, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Lie-in-State: 9:30-10 am, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Concordia Lutheran Church.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Reverend James Hennig and Reverend Michael Koschmann officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
