Joyce Anne Bennett, 73, of Buffalo, died from complications due to lung cancer at 3:07 am, Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born December 31, 1940 in Springfield, to Ray and Fern Wake Watkins. She married Ernest Bennett on October 24, 1959 and he survives.
Also surviving are four children, Renee (Jeff) Kruger of Pawnee, Duane (Jan) Bennett of Dawson, Robin (Jay) Timm of Sherman and Rachael (Robert) Paul of Riverton; seven grand children, Kyle Kruger, Aaron Bennett, J.P. Meyer, Bryce Paul, Lucas Kruger, Abbey Paul and Alec Timm; one sister Jacqie (Donald) Kirby of Buffalo; one sister-in-law, Delores Watkins of Mechanicsburg; two brothers Larry (Karen) Watkins of Mechanicsburg and LeRoy (Stevie) Watkins of Springfield; one aunt, Pauline Warner of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Jan Lowery and one brother Lyle Watkins.
Joyce was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of South Tower Community Church. She loved crafting and was a member of Rudolph Express Craft Club. She was a former Tri-City Board member. She enjoyed researching on her family tree and was proud that she had completed it.
Joyce retired from Memorial Medical Center and joined her husband traveling to fairs with E & J Concessions. She also was a Day Care Provider for seventeen years.
The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at South Tower Community Church with Pastor Charlie Carver officiating.
