Joy Odette Weller, 85, of Springfield died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born March 25, 1927 in Dawson, IL the daughter of Clarence and Sadie (Bruen) Pope. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and 4 sisters. On May 15, 1954 she married Robert Weller. Survivors include her husband Robert; daughter Helena, granddaughter Susan, three grandsons, David, Jack and Ronnie and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of West Side Christian Church. She retired from Sangamo Electric.
Visitation: 12 – 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to West Side Christian Church.

I clicked on this obituary this morning, while looking at the State Journal-Register; thinking what a beautiful woman she was; I didn't realize until later on in the day; that she was Helena's mother.
