Joshua James Michael Willis of Sykesville, MD, formerly of Rochester, died on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his home. He was born July 7, 1981 in Springfield, to Guy Ray and Chrissy (DeFord) Willis. He married Brandi Clark in 2011.

Surviving are his wife, Brandi; three children, Guy, Hunter and Emma; parents, Guy and Chrissy Willis, both of Rochester; one sister, Elisha (Michael) Tucker of Rochester; two nieces, Olivia and Macie; father-in-law, Michael Clark; mothers-in-law, Carol Meyer and Kerry Dunki-Jacobs; brothers-in-law, Michael (Michelle) Lubahn, Garrett (Kelly) Hartley and Dalton Clark and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and countless amazing friends.

Joshua was a graduate of Rochester High School. Even though he was afraid of heights he made the selfless decision to join the Army as an Airbourne infantryman. Later in his career he was accepted into the US Special Forces where he served three deployments; two to Afghanistan and one to Iraq. Joshua was highly decorated and received the Bronze Star. He was a Staff Sergeant for the Tenth Special Forces Group and served for fifteen years.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle, nephew and friend.

Memorial Gathering: 4 – 7 pm, Monday, December 18, 2017, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Memorial Service: 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where Military Honors will be conducted.
