Joseph Patrick Rock 83, of Springfield, died at 3:29 am, Tuesday, November 8, ,2022 at Springfield Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1939, to Micheal and Anna (Kohlrus) Rock.
Survivors include two sisters, Patricia Young of Quincy and Theresa Greeley of Milford, MI and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Catherine Dressendorfer, Mary VonDeBur; Dorothy Rock and Dolores Walsh and one brother, Michael Rock.
Joseph was a US Army Veteran. He retired from the State of Illinois as a Civil Engineer for the Department of Transportation.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Church where he served as an usher and was also a member of Knights of Columbus at Deveraux Heights.
Visitation: 9 – 10 am, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at St. Aloysius Church.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 am, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at St. Aloysius Church with Reverend George Nellikunnel officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPARC or St. John’s Breadline.
