Joseph M. Mounce
SPRINGFIELD – Joseph M. Mounce, 75, of Springfield, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Villa Health Care East in Sherman.
He was born October 9, 1931 in Springfield, IL, the son of Allen and Josephine Reynolds Mounce. He married Pearl Selvaggio on August 31, 1957; she preceded him in death on November 24, 2004. His parents and one brother also preceded him in death.
Mr. Mounce was an instructor at Fiat Allis for 25 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1949-1952 stationed in Germany. He was a member of St. Aloysius Church and was an avid SHG football fan.
Survivors: four daughters, Ana-Jo Mounce of Austin, TX, Mary Mounce of Chicago, Elizabeth (husband, Michael) Falagario of Mt. Prospect, and Rebecca (husband, Mark) Valletti of Buffalo Grove; two sons, Michael Mounce of Charleston and Daniel (wife, Diane) Mounce of Spaulding; ten grandchildren; one sister, Rita (husband, John) Torrey of Peoria; two brothers, James (wife, Shirlee) Mounce of Springfield and Thomas (wife, Jenny) Mounce of New Port Richie, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Fisher Foundation for Alzheimer’s Research, West 46th and 12th.
Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2007. Prayers: 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2007 at St. Aloysius Church, Reverend Donald Meehling officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
