Joseph F. Shea

Joseph F. Shea, 88, of Springfield, died at 2:53 am, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at his home. He was born January 17, 1929 in Springfield, to Joseph and Kathryn Biderbost Shea.

Survivors include seven great grandchildren; one sister, Doris E. Padget of Springfield and three nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathleen Morris; three sons, Joseph Shea, Jr., Stephen Shea and Michael Shea and two granddaughters, Kelly Hulet and Michelle Morris.

Joseph was a US Navy Veteran. He was of the Catholic faith and was president of the Eagles. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was a Springfield firefighter and owned Capital City Fire Extinguisher Company for over thirty-five years.

Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday, March 27, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.

Funeral Service: 7:00 pm, Monday, March 27, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Reverend Braden Maher officiating and where military honors will be conducted. Inurnment at a later date will be at Calvary Cemetery.
