Joseph A. Saville passed from this earth Saturday March 20th 2010. Joe was born on July 19th 1926, son of Joseph B Saville and Agnes Munson Saville and grew up in Riverton.
Joe left Riverton when the Navy called and served on a ship in Word War II. After his service to his country was completed, Joe settled in Decatur and went to work for Caterpillar. He retired from Cat after thirty years of service and embarked on retirement. Joe married Grace Joan Brilley on March 20th 1982. Upon retirement they moved to Surprise Arizona and later to Cherokee Village Arkansas. Most recently Joe lived in Springfield Illinois.
Joe leaves behind two daughters, Becky Gates and her husband Roger, Betsy Netherton and her fiancé Jerry Thornton, three step children, Don Brilley and wife Jane of Decatur, Dan Brilley and wife Tina of Springfield and Rick Brilley and wife Anita of Indiana. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, one great grandchild and five step great grandchildren.
In addition, Joe leaves his sisters Lila Potter, Linda Saville Rush and brother Richard Saville behind.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Joe loved to travel, all things to do with the water, and fixing anything he felt was broken. He enjoyed retirement to the fullest.
Memorial Gathering will be held 1pm until time of the memorial service at 2 pm, on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home. Reverend Peter Harman officiating. Burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
