John M. Trstensky, 70, of Marrero, LA, formerly of Springfield, Illinois died on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at his home following a chronic illness.
He was raised in Springfield, graduating from St. Aloysius Grade School and St. James Trade School. He attended Brown’s Business College for one year before starting a career in the glass industry in Springfield, IL; Toledo, OH; St. Louis, MO and New Orleans, LA for the past 30 years.
John’s years in Louisiana coincided with several weather-related disasters most notably Hurricane Katrina. He was proud of the contribution made by the glass industry workers in the restoration of New Orleans following Katrina.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Trstensky, Sr. and Helen G. Bresnan Trstensky and by siblings Pauline McKinney, Frank Trstensky, Jr., Dorothea Seiz, Joseph Trstensky and Tom Trstensky.
He is survived by siblings Frances M. Kincaid, Sister Jomary Trstensky and Helen M. Jackson.
A private funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Church followed by Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
