John Joseph Loscher, 79, of Springfield, died at 2:50 pm, Sunday, August 21, 2016 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born September 23, 1936 in Quincy to John Theodore and Barbara Drescher Loscher.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Mary Etta; four children, John Loscher, Bradley (Diane) Loscher and Leah (Brad) McAllister all of Springfield and Christina (Matthew) Ring of Chicago; eight grandchildren, Michael, Katie, Matthew, Adam, Andy, Alec, Sophia and Helena; two brothers, James (Jeannine) Loscher of Quincy and Donald (Jeannie) Loscher of MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant twin sons.
John was a member of Christ the King Church. He loved spending time with his family, traveling with his wife and friends and following his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. He was director of Radiology at St. John’s Hospital for over forty years.
Visitation: 9:30-11:00 am, Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

I think of John as the cute x-ray tech that Mary Etta met & then married while we were in nurses training at St. John's :-) He was a special person, so easy to know & always fun to be with. Wish I could have been there in person to give my Condolences & Hugs.
