SPRINGFIELD – John Charles Jack Fiaush, 77, of Springfield died at 10:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Oak Terrace.
He was born July 8, 1930, in Springfield, the son of John and Mary Staber Fiaush. He married Marie Hood on Nov. 5, 1960.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Lisa (husband, Jim) Ackerman of Springfield; two sons, Jim (wife, Amy) Fiaush of Chatham and Tom (wife, Jayne) Fiaush of Springfield; seven grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Fiaush of Springfield; a brother, Don (wife, Judy) Fiaush of South Bend, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; and cousins.
He retired as controller and chief accounting officer for CIPS after 43 years of service.
He was a member of Christ the King Church, treasurer for 20 years of the SHG Booster Club, past member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved SHG football. He dedicated 30-plus years in a Monday night football club. He attended Cathedral Boys High School, Saint Louis University and the University of Illinois Executive MBA program.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home with prayers at 4 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at Christ the King with the Rev. Mick Egan CSV officiating.
Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery
