John Alexander “Jack” McGlennon, 81, of Springfield, died at 2:44 am, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1930 in Springfield, to William and Elsie Norman McGlennon. He married Mildred E. Conaway on February 8, 1972 and she preceded him in death on April 27, 2007.
His parents; one brother, Ralph Norman; one sister, Nina Horn and one step-son, Fred Conaway also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sisters Mary Alice (Larry) O’Bryan and Edith Bollinger both of Springfield; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jack served in the National Guard during the Korean War. He was member of Real Life Church, VFW Post #5038 and Eagles Lodge #437. He was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He retired from Fiat Allis after 30 years and worked for 7 years as a security guard for the Secretary of State.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, August 12, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
