Jerrold B. Nation, Sr., 56, of Cantrall, IL, died at 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born on May 19, 1955 in Springfield to John Herbert and Mary Lou Rozum Nation. Preceding Jerrold in death are his parents; a sister, Mary Lou Wanless; two brothers, Jim Wilson and Robert Nation and a grandchild, Shawn Nation.
Jerrold was first married to Mary Jo (Fickas) Nation, he then married Russie Fishburn on July 1, 2011.
Surviving are his wife, Russie; his children’s mother, Mary Jo Nation; two sons, Jerrold B. (Christina) Nation, Jr. of Springfield and Jonathan L .(Tiffany) Nation of Riverton; three grandchildren, Justin, Gregory and Wyatt Nation; a step daughter, Crystal Fishburn of New Orleans, LA; three step grandchildren, Anthony, Mercedes and Rickie Fishburn; one sister, Janice (Don) Radford of Sherman; three brothers, John “Bud” (Carol) Nation of Loami, Don (Carol) Nation and Gary (Vickie) Nation both of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Nation served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Laborers Local #477 and worked as a laborer and concrete finisher for 35 years and was also a member of the Eagles Aerie #437. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
The family will be hosting a memorial gathering 5-8 pm, Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Eagles Club, 2700 East Ash, Springfield.
