Jerald L. Harlow, 82, of Springfield, died at 11:30am, Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1936 in Springfield to William Earl and Lucille Mae (Wheeler) Harlow. He married JoAnn Herron on April 13, 1957 and she survives.

Also surviving are three children, Jerry (Pam) Harlow and Beth (Steve) Guikema, both of Springfield, and Mary (Jon) Routley of Dubuque, IA; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Michael Harlow; two sisters, Mary Ann Harlow and Loretta Ancell and one brother, Leon Harlow.

Jerry was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He attended Grace Bible Chapel. He was a truck driver starting with Vredenburgh Lumber Company and later retiring from Be-Mac transport.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.

Jerry was a proud Teamster. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and was an avid Cubs Fan.

Visitation: 4 pm – 7 pm Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield.

A private family service will be held Friday with burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Bible Chapel or Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
