SPRINGFIELD – Jennie Mae Zake, age 90, of Springfield died at her home at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010.
She was born on February 7, 1920, in Waggoner, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Jennie Browning Lohman. She married Walter Zake in 1960; and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2009.
Also preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Gerald and Edward Lohman.
A lifelong resident of Springfield, she retired from the state of Illinois Department of Transportation. She was a member of the Ladies extension of the Farm Bureau.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Anderson of Springfield; a granddaughter, Dawn Anderson of Springfield; and a grandson, Roderick Anderson of Grayslake, IL; and 4 great-grandchildren, Leah and Ryan Smith and Michael and Jennifer Anderson.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon on Friday, July 30, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home, Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
