SPRINGFIELD – Jay T. Veach, 51, a resident of Springfield for most of his life, died at 9:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at his home.
He was born July 17, 1956, in Evansville, Ind., the son of Frank Lee and Virginia Thompson Veach. His father preceded him in death.
Mr. Veach worked for the city of Springfield Department of Public Works for many years.
Surviving are his daughter, Jenna Veach of Springfield; three sons, Jesse (wife, Alicia), Josh (wife, Kim) and Jay Aaron Veach, all of Springfield, and their mother, Debbie Veach of Springfield; three grandchildren, Alanzo, Enrico and Alana Veach; three brothers, Craig (wife, Sally) Veach of Springfield, Brad (wife, Teresa) Veach of Sherman and Barry (wife, Angela) Veach of Riverton; mother, Virginia (husband, Robert) Collins of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home. Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home, with Deacon David Erdmann officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, in Oak Ridge Cemetery, with the Rev. David Hoefler officiating.
