Jay Franklin Moore, 31, of Pawnee, died at 6:38 pm, Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at his home. He was born December 2, 1983 in Lincoln to Jeffrey and Debra Johnston Moore. He married Paula Langley and she survives.

Also surviving are his father Jeffrey (Cathy) Moore of Pawnee and mother, Debra Allen of Lincoln; four sisters, Brandy (Tony) Purcell of Jerseyville, Harmony Moore of Lincoln, Kristina (Fiancé: Dan) Creighton of Pawnee and Holly Bauer of Bison, IL; two brothers, Kevin (Amie) Creighton and Matthew (Jackie) Creighton, both of Chatham; grandmother, Rose Shane of Watago, IL, grandparents, Vernon and Catherine Maltby of Pawnee and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his canine companions, Bridgette, Jaxson and Opie.

Jay was a member of the Army National Guard since 2008 and served in Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Monday, March 14, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
