SPRINGFIELD – Janice Mae Manning, 72, of Springfield died at 5:55 a.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center. Janice was born August 31, 1936, in Litchfield, to the late Frank and Ann Kaduk Kratochvil. She married her husband, Lane T. Manning, in 1959; he preceded her in death on July 4, 1989.
Surviving Janice are her children, Melanie Manning of Atlanta, Ga. and Mark (wife, Kelly) Manning of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Abigail and Benjamin; and several cousins.
Mrs. Manning was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She was also an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed spending time with her friends. After graduating from Mount Olive High School she worked for and retired from the state of Illinois Department of Education as a data processing supervisor.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Reverend Christopher House officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
