Janetta Beth “Jan” Bryant
SPRINGFIELD – Janetta Beth “Jan” Bryant, 56, of Springfield, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born March 14, 1951 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of James and Margaret Blair Babcook. She married Michael Bryant. Her parents and one brother, Jimmy Babcook, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bryant was a photo processor at Walgreens and formerly at Osco. She was a member of Southside Christian Church and volunteered at many places, including Washington Street Mission and Mini O’Bierne Crisis Nursery. She had won blue ribbons at the Illinois State Fair for her afghans and she enjoyed crocheting and fishing.
Survivors: husband, Michael Bryant; stepmother, Norma Babcook of Springfield; three daughters, Jean Parrish (companion, Emmitt Chastain) of Rochester, Sharlene Hunt of Springfield, and Courteney Bryant of Rochester; two sons, Cory Pisciotto of Lincoln and Curtis Bryant of Rochester; four grandchildren; four sisters, Julianna Babcook of Columbia, MO, Yvonna (husband, Danny) Williams of Petersburg, Rita (husband, Rusty) Smith of Rochester, and Sherry (husband, Kenneth) Grant of Springfield; six brothers, Bradley (companion, Mary) Babcook of Chatham, John Babcook of Jamaica, Charles (wife, Mary) Smith of Norris City, Jimmy (wife, Tina) Smith of Springfield, Rob (wife, Kathy) Smith of Springfield, and Tommy Smith of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
