Janet Marie Fitzgerald, 69, of Springfield, died at 6:58 pm Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born May 5, 1946 in Springfield, to Thomas and Velma Miller Lawless.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa (Chris) Sommer of Springfield; one son, Matthew T. Fitzgerald of Springfield; five grandchildren, Lauryn, Thomas, Connor, Austin and Alison; one sister, Mary Ann (James) Palazzolo of Springfield; one brother, Patrick J. Lawless of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Janet was a longtime member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and was currently attending St. Agnes.
She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She retired from AT&T after thirty-two years of service.
Visitation: 10 – 11 am, Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
Funeral Mass: 11 am, Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Reverend Martin Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
