SPRINGFIELD, IL- Jane Eileen Dyer-Gilpin, 70, died at 4:10 pm, Friday, December 9, 2016 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born on June 11, 1946 in Springfield to William Herbert and Clara Etta (Garrison) Mize. She married David E. Gilpin Jr. on August 16, 2003.

Survivors include her husband, David E. Gilpin Jr.; three daughters, Debbie Horrighs of Somerset, TX, Lisa (Michael) Waitkus of Effingham, and Wendy (Fiancé Rodney Conaway) Flach of Springfield; three grandchildren, Ashley Vonderheide, Anyssa (Jake) Harrington, and Amber Vonderheide; three great grandchildren, Colton Harrington, Addison DeFrees, and Ava Harrington; and one niece Janet (Danny) Boastick of Springfield.

Preceding her in death are her parents and one brother, David Lee Mize.

Jane retired from Springfield School District 186 after over 25 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and crafts.

Visitation: 5-7 pm, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home- Springfield with Pastor Paula Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
