James Wesley Brammer, 82, died at 6:26 pm, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born on January 24, 1935 to James Monroe and Ethel Elizabeth (Cartwright) Brammer in Macon, MO. He married Mary Ann (Vacco) Bridges and she survives.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Julie Ann Bridges of Springfield; two sons, Mark Eric (Sandra) Bridges of Virden and Kevin Michael (Anne-Marie) Bridges of Springfield; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rita (Chet) Sabo of Salisbury, Patricia Mohn, Pearl (Earl) Throop, and Ginger (David) Webb all of Springfield; three brothers, Robert (Barbara) Brammer of Litchfield, Michael Brammer of Bevier, MO, and Rusty (Brenda) Brammer of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Caleb Michael Bridges.
James was a resident of Springfield for most of his life. He was a dock worker for Matthew Transfer, a teamster for 19 years, and worked maintenance for the State Capital.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also an excellent handyman, keen marksman, protector and provider, Rusty’s right hand man, and Caleb’s fishing buddy.
Visitation: 10:30-11:30 am, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Pastor Gary Winkleman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

James was a good man and a great neighbor! I am thankful for all the times he was there to help me out and even the times he was there to pick on me!! He will be missed!
