AUBURN – James W. Griffin, 51, of Auburn died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1955, in Springfield, the son of James L. and Beverly Ushman Griffin. He married Cynthia E. Clark on April 3, 1999. He was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother, Kelly Griffin.
Mr. Griffin was a resident of Auburn for four years. He was a cement mason with Cement Mason Local 539, retiring after 30 years.
He held a black belt in Yoshukai Karate and was a member of Cement Mason Local 539.
Surviving are his wife, Cynthia E. Griffin; a daughter, Nicole Griffin (companion, Shamas Dennis) of Springfield; two stepsons, Bohdon (wife, Sarra) Baptist of Fort Riley, Kan., and Chase Baptist of Bloomington; a grandchild, Connor; two stepgrandchildren, Keirston and Stephanie; father, James L. Griffin of Springfield; sister, Peggy Griffin (companion, Fred Williams) of Houston; brother, Michael (wife, Cindy) Griffin of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Clark officiating.
