James V. Graves, 54 of Springfield died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at his home. He was born
June 12, 1961 in Springfield to Robert M. and Dorothy J. Gentry Graves. They preceded him in death. He
married Anna M. Pitts on May 16, 1992 and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Jacqulyn and Katelynn Graves, both of Springfield; two grandchildren, Izabella and James; his dog, Miracle; three sisters, Linda Shomidie of Springfield, Roberta (Robert)
Cleeton of Tovey and Emily Castleman of Springfield; four brothers, John (Judy) Graves of Springfield, Gary (Patricia) Graves of Springfield, Joe (Janet) Graves of Tovey and Robert (companion: Joe Medina) Graves, II of Springfield; one half-sister, Beth (Steve) Harden of Springfield and several nieces,
nephews and cousins; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Patsy (Donald) Bethard of Springfield and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack (Charlene) Pitts of St. Augustine, FL.

James was a resident of Springfield all of his life. He enjoyed camping, horses, and spending time with family and friends. He worked at the State of Illinois Department of Human Services as a computer programmer. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran.

Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.

Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December30, 2015 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail
